The Birth

In the heart of the Amazon, where the jungle’s pulse beats strongest and its whispers echo with ancient wisdom, our journey began. For 155 days, with an unquenchable desire to understand the intricacies of life in the forest, its fauna & flora, the indigenous cultures, we traversed the Colombian, Peruvian, and Brazilian Amazon, covering over 5,000 kilometers.

What we witnessed altered our souls forever.

Living amongst indigenous communities in the most basic of conditions, we immersed ourselves in their way of life. From the absence of clean water to the daily trek for survival for food, seeds, medicine, we felt their resilience and pain. We learned the intricacies of their lives, from their spiritual rituals to making Farinha their staple —a 48-hour long process—and tending to the land, planting native trees and nurturing chagras.

Our days were a symphony of emotions—awe at the Amazon’s raw majesty, gratitude for the generosity of its people, yet a heartbreak in witnessing the jungle’s silent cry for help. From Pumas to anacondas, from frogs to spiders, from pink dolphins to monkeys, hummingbirds to honeybees, we witnessed the rich biodiversity that once thrived, now threatened by deforestation, forest fires & degradation.

In the face of this stark reality, we made a choice—not to stand idly by, but to rise and act. Thus, the Amazon Rainforest Conservation was born. With a mission to plant 2,030,000 trees by 2030 & lifting the lives of the Amazonian communities, we set forth, our hearts aflame with purpose.

MESSAGE FROM THE FOUNDERS

Luisa, Co-Founder & President

It is a great pleasure and honor to address you as co-founder of this organization, in which we work tirelessly to achieve a significant impact in the conservation and preservation of the invaluable Amazon rainforest.

My experience as a lawyer has instilled in me a deep sense of responsibility towards safeguarding the environment, and my passion for nature has driven me to seek effective solutions to protect this incredible biome. The Amazon is a treasured treasure, home to countless species of plants and animals found nowhere else on Earth. But beyond its biodiversity, the Amazon serves as a crucial climate regulator, producing oxygen and stores carbon vital to the well-being of our planet.

I am convinced that a planted tree is a seed of hope for a sustainable future and a step forward in the fight against the climate crisis we are going through. From sharing that vision, our collective reforestation effort in the Amazon is born, contributing to improve the lives of the indigenous and riverside communities that inhabit it, the true guardians of this vital ecosystem.

I have personally witnessed the alarming devastation that this unbearable giant has suffered and the terrible consequences, such as unprecedented heat waves, wildlife deaths due to rising temperatures, increased wildfires and other catastrophic effects.

That is why we have partnered with several Amazonian communities, putting their empowerment at the center of our foundation, offering support to protect their lands and promote sustainable agricultural projects.

Communities like Sateré Mawé have been deeply affected by devastating wildfires, resulting in food shortages and other hardships. In response, we provided aid and running projects to plant 4,500 trees in 4 locations to restore the ecosystem.

Additionally, our work extends to the indigenous Tikuna communities in Colombia and Peru, where we have initiated projects to plant 5,500 trees and empower indigenous women through the development of craft skills.

While we have made significant progress in planting trees and strengthening local ecosystems, there is much more to do and we cannot do it alone. We need committed people like you to join us to ensure that the Amazon remains the green lung of our planet.

Every donation, act of solidarity, shared message and gesture of environmental awareness brings us one step closer to a sustainable future and a healthier planet for all.

Together, let us raise the flag of reforestation as our mission, our legacy and our commitment.

With sincere gratitude,

Luisa María Ruiz

Ash, Co-Founder & Vice President

Our work is fueled by a sense of urgency and an unwavering passion to protect one of the most extraordinary wonders of our planet, hosting over million species of fauna & flora and plays a vital role in regulating the Earth’s climate.

Growing up in rural India, I witnessed firsthand the profound connection between nature and our existence. Studying & having worked in the Western world gave me insights into human impacts on the planet. It propelled me on a journey across 53 countries over 3 years, seeking a greater purpose in life. From witnessing coral reefs collapsing to flooding, to soaring temperature, forest fires and glaciers melting, the planet is in crisis. It saddens me to see how human actions have jeopardised the survival of thousands of species, including the Amazon rainforest itself. This incredible life journey along with a powerful Amazonian ceremony with the Huni Kuin indigenous people, ignited my commitment to protect this precious ecosystem.

The threats against the Amazon rainforest including ranching, forest fires, illegal logging, mining, drilling are too great and the damage done so far too significant to be reversed easily. The clock is ticking, and we must take action now to prevent a 20% tipping point.

At Amazon2030, we have developed a 6 Pillar strategy, a holistic approach to protect the Amazon rainforest based on years of experience. We believe in working together with local communities, partner organisations, scientists, policy-makers and individuals to protect the rainforest, preserve wildlife, and improve the lives of those who depend on the rainforest.

To achieve our ambitious goals, we have set a target of planting 100,000 trees in a 12 months period and increasing the number by 50% each year until 2030 which is crucial in preventing the approaching tipping point.

We undertake perilous 50-100 hour boat journeys through isolated forests, harsh living conditions, navigating through drug dealers and armed men, weeks without electricity and internet but our commitment remains unwavering as we endeavour to reach indigenous communities and safeguard this invaluable ecosystem.

While we have accomplished much in our efforts to conserve the Amazon rainforest, there is still a significant amount of work ahead to achieve the monumental task of planting 2,030,000 trees by 2030.

We urge you to join us in our mission and support our efforts in any way you can. You can adopt a tree in the Amazon, raise awareness in your community, create a personalized forest, donate to our cause, or spread the word among your family and friends.

Every small action counts!

Love & harmony from the Amazonia.

Gilberto, Director

As Director of the Amazon2030 Foundation, its a pleasure to welcome you. I am a Public Accountant by profession, an innate lover of nature who understands the interdependence between the preservation of the environment and human well-being.

I want to share with you my unwavering commitment to protecting the Amazon biome, our invaluable source of life.

It is evident that our daily actions directly impact the Amazon and its inhabitants. Climate change, deforestation and pollution generated by industrial activities represent critical challenges that threaten the integrity of this region, fundamental for global ecological balance.

” *215,000 TREES CUT DOWN ; AREA DEFORESTED – 4 sq kms EVERYDAY”

In this sense, the Amazon2030 Foundation is committed to leading efforts aimed at finding effective solutions to protect and preserve the Amazon. We recognize the urgent need to promote environmental sustainability and encourage responsible practices that minimize the negative impacts of human activities in this vital region.

I hope to have your support and collaboration to face these challenges. Together, we can make a difference and ensure a sustainable future for the Amazon and for generations to come.

I thank you in advance for your commitment and invite you to join us in this crucial effort. I am sure that, together, we will achieve our goals and protect the beauty and biodiversity of the Amazon.

With gratitude and determination,

Dr Gilberto Enrique Rodriguez Rojas
